Suede leather is the part of the leather on the flesh side. This type of skin is very easy to care for and robust. Of course, suede leather does not require waxing or creaming.
For optimal care, you will need a brass brush and an aerosol waterproofing agent. In order to maintain your suede calf leather shoes in the best possible way, we invite you to follow the tips below:
Get your shoes ready!
First, remove the laces from your shoes. This will allow you to access every nook and cranny of your pair and will also prevent your laces from getting dirty.
Place your shoes under shoetrees. The installation under shoe trees, at this stage, allows you to continue cleaning your shoes under the best conditions. Indeed, your pair will then regain its original shape and it will be easier to take care of it.
Start the cleaning!
As mentioned above, suede calf leather requires occasional care.
Remove the accumulated dirt. Rub your suede calf leather shoes vigorously with a medium brush to remove any dust, dirt or impurities collected during your various wearing habits.
Brush the suede calf leather. It is not uncommon for suede calf leather to smooth out as the wearer wears it, with the hairs tightening together. Using a brass brush, gently brush the suede calf leather of your shoes to restore its volume.
Waterproof and feed the suede calf. To do this, use a suede calf spray waterproofer. Spray your shoes evenly by staying about 30 centimetres from your pair. In addition to protecting your shoes from stains and rain, the waterproofing agent will nourish the leather and revive the colours of the suede calf. Be sure to use a waterproofing agent the same colour as your suede calf. If necessary, use a colourless waterproofing agent. Also remember to protect your surfaces with newspaper, but also your soles (if they are lighter), the waterproofing agent can, in some cases, significantly dye them.
Let it dry!
Once the waterproofing spray has been applied to your pair of suede calfskin leather, let it rest for 20 to 30 minutes. Finally, brush your shoes again with the brass brush.
It is recommended to maintain suede calf leather at least once every two months, i.e. every 10 to 15 ports. This takes into consideration the rotation of your shoes. Indeed, just like a more classic leather shoe, it is strongly recommended to alternate your suede calf leather shoes so that the leather can rest, breathe and relax.
